I always enjoy being a guest lecture with Bee Grandinetti for her Animation course at Hyper Island in Sweden. I shared all about my work with the students, how I got into stop motion and what are the things I had to overcome to be where I am today. I also did a live animation explaining some animation principles and showing the students how Stop motion studio app works.

Motion Motion Festival was so much fun, and Nantes is such a beautiful city. I had a great time speaking and sharing my work and discovering the work of other amazing animators as well.
It’s always a pleasure guest lecturing with Heidi Kumao for her advanced animation class at Stamps School of Art and Design, University of Michigan. I share about my work and how I got started in Stop motion and I share a lot of case studies and breakdown of projects and the process pipeline. I also did a live demo for a fun animation.
VICE Global Logo ID’s has won the Gold Clio Award. I am very honored to be part of this project and to be amongst such incredible artists from around the world.

I am happy to announce my collaboration with Sony Alpha universe in the Middle East. For our first collaboration I have prepared a Stop motion series in Arabic of four videos explaining the whole stop motion process with a demo to an animation as well.

I had the pleasure of speaking again at btconf 2022 in Berlin after a long break due to covid, the conference was back, it’s one of my favorites and in fact after the Berlin one, I’ve now spoken at all their three editions in Germany; Munich, Düsseldorf and now Berlin.

I was commissioned by Lemonade to create a looping animation for their Instagram account under the theme “Connected By Lemonade”. I was free to use anything as long as the animation had a cool transformation, at least one frame had the “pink line” connecting from top to bottom and It was generally pink to fit their branding.
I had the idea of snapping a thin long balloon into a Balloon dog, sort of a magical “How Balloon Dogs Are Made”.
Trickiest part was animating and shaping a Balloon in extreme positions, after many experiments I made a wire skeleton and glued it to a balloon dog that I made from different parts, this allowed to move and pause the dog in many positions without it popping. I also used wire inside inflated balloons to shape and create my in between frames during the transformation.
So honored and extremely happy to announce that I’ve won a Vimeo Best Of The Year Award for the stop motion animation I made for ifixit.com for the “Made for Social” category.

I started 2021 with giving an online talk at my University in Malaysia talking about the adventure in the animation world that I embarked on, how it all started and how Industrial design intersects with the stop motion animation world in its various departments whether it’s puppet making, armature design, rigging, set fabrication or props making.
