I made a simple Printable that you can download to create fun stop motion Jiggly Friends at Home. I’ve also prepared step by step tutorial videos (In English and Arabic) to show you how to use the PDF file, how stop motion works, and which app to use and how to use it to create your video or GIF. It’s a fun creative activity that you can do with your kids and get them occupied during lock down. Or even if you don’t have kids, older kids like us can enjoy it too! All you need to do is click the button below. Have fun!
I made a talking book - Stop motion experiment
I wanted to make a video for Kevin Parry’s Instagram Challenge, the theme for February was a ‘Book’ 📕
I want to animate more objects and I wanted to not add more to the book but instead use the books elements in a way and animate it. I used the technique of book folding to create different mouth shapes and used ‘replacement’ stop motion technique to make the animation.
I documented the whole process of how I made my talking book, you’ll also get a glimpse of a used books market we have in Cairo called Azbakeya Market.
What's inside the things you throw away | A Stop motion
These are all products I would find in the Friday market (scrap market) here in Cairo. Some work, in perfect conditions, some don’t but have parts that still function.
I might have changed careers and now I am a stop motion animator, but product design will always be my biggest fascination. The idea of designing something that ends up in trash saddens me the most, and the solution is not to stop creating, humans will never stop making things. But rather

In this blogpost I’ll share about the history of the Moulid Doll and why I made this project with Zest. If you want to know the full steps and details of the making of this project, check it on my instructables.
9th-10th of November was Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, or ‘Al-Moulid Al-Nabawi’ in Arabic, al moulid means carnival and al nabawi means of the prophet. In Egypt we have various special cultural traditions to celebrate it, all started by the Fatimid dynasty more than 1000 years ago.

Glue life is my new stop motion mini series reflecting my own life from glue characters perspective. This episode pretty much sums up my 2019 so far haha, but there are still few months to go, let’s hope my glue gun can put things all together soon.
Read MorePlant a tree in Egypt 2019
It’s that time of the year again. Every year I organize a tree planting day and fundraise and invite everyone to take part of it. It wouldn’t have happened without the support of all the people who have contributed, from inside and outside Egypt!
This year I am going for quality over quantity, for this year the goal is not to plant 1000 trees but to plant a tree that will make a huge impact on someone’s life. I personally went and visited a village in Fayoum city in Egypt called ‘Ezbet Alsheikh Selim’, they literally live in the desert, in the middle of no where, and not because they are beduins or tribes but because they cant afford to go anywhere. To be able to buy anything they need to get some sort of transportation, a tuktuk, drive for 30-45 min to the centre of the village, pay an amount that they can't afford to waste just to buy few veggies and fruits. To keep it short, the people there are not just below the line of poverty, they are not even close to the line.
The plan is to build like a "pot” to plant the trees in outside their houses and plant fruit trees; lemons, figs and berries. Also herbs like mint, rosemary, and all these plants, we will give them seeds for veggies and compost to last them the whole year. Again this year shagrha helps me with all tree matters.
We have counted 39 houses in the village I visited and we are starting off with these. The average cost of doing all this for one house will be $44 or EGP 750. The “pots” will be built in august and we will plant the trees on 6th September. I will personally go there myself. There are several ways you can donate; paypal if you are outside Egypt (just send me an email for details), Etisalat cash, CIB ATM or attend our yoga fundraising event on the 24th of August at TD Athletics in Tagamoa. Just send me an email for any details.

When non Arabs talk about different Arabic food, the whole conversation consists of three words; Fallafel, shawerma and Baqlava! I am exaggerating obviously but I noticed that’s all my non Arab friends know about the different Arabic cuisines. So when it was Eid time I decided to share more about the different food we have, after all food is the best way to get to know a culture and what better way to share something other than turn it into an animated GIF sticker!
Kahk is a sweet cookie that we eat in Egypt only during the three days of Eid, thankfully, you are possibly looking at 3000 cals 😅😂 Jokes aside, kahk with a cup of tea is perfection!
I made 7 different GIF stickers that can be used on Instagram and facebook or anywhere really that can embed giphy stickers and shared them so people can play around with and spread the kahk love. And It has made in total 26.3 Million views* (updated on 12th june 2019)
Tinker Friday Workshop // Pictoplasma // Berlin
I gave a “tinker friday” workshop during Pictoplasma Berlin 2019, we prepared so many products that were no longer working for participants to take apart, see what’s inside and then try to imagine and design their own characters from all the pieces.
Seeing more than 100 people with screwdrivers in their hand makes me so happy! I hope everyone who joined had a great time 🙌 I hope you learned more about what’s inside your products and that now you don’t fear taking anything apart! Maybe even try to fix it!
Some shared that it was a challenge for them to create with a different medium, they mostly work with paper or digitally on computer (not with computer parts!) But challenging your creative muscle is always a good and they ended up creating very interesting characters!

I had such a great time at Pictoplasma ✨ I met really inspiring people from both speakers and the audience. Thanks to everyone who attended my talk, heard my story and joined my ‘tinker friday’ workshop!

Glue Life no.1 | My first lip sync stop motion!
I am more like the glue gun lately... I wanted to learn new things in stop motion and at the same time lately I've been struggling with getting things done, I noticed I tend to put my problems in videos, just like writing your problems down on a piece of paper then forgetting all about them, making a stop motion video helps me I guess but it just takes months longer haha... I've been stuck for months doing really boring not so creative jobs to make ends meet and it has been weighing me down, hopefully I get out of this non creative hole soon..
Reasons to Opening Titles | Stop Motion
I animated the opening titles for Reasons To conference in UK (that sadly happened to be the last reasons to) I picked characters to represent each speaker and animated little skits. I brought all the lil creatures in the video all the way from Egypt and we displayed them on stage, and attendees got the chance to see them up close and snap photos. I gave most of them away to the speakers and some attendees who where in London!
I make Props for Advertisements in Egypt.
Aside from the stop motion commissions I also get to do Props for advertisements in Egypt. Something I really enjoy doing, it’s usually a job with a very tight deadline (we need this in 2-3 days kind of job) so I don’t always have the time to document the making process.
This headpiece was created for a Burger King Saudi Arabia Ad, shot in Egypt by Nojara production house. I worked from a reference of a headpiece machine that collected tears to water plants. The wire frame was hand bent and shaped then soldered together to create the main piece. It also had a water pump installed to fill up a water tank at the top during the shoot.
Reasons To // Brighton, UK // 2018
